The Katie Swatek Photography Experience description

I am there to aid all of my seniors and their loved ones in every step of this process so they are never left feeling unprepared or overwhelmed. If you’re looking for the photographer who meets you in a parking lot, throws your images in a gallery and never sees you again — that’s not me. If you’re looking for just one or two cool images, that likely isn’t me either. Your senior images are an experience and should reflect that through our entire time together.

Every single one of my seniors gets a customized consultation to begin the planning of their session, we go over all the details. Every senior gets custom designed welcome packets, guides and visual aids they need to further prepare for our time together. At the session, we plan each outfit together to suit not only each senior’s personality but the location so that my seniors stand out. After the session, we sit together at the studio and decide what works best for the family’s budget and for their wants and needs. We are together through every. single. step.

Because these images are unique to each one of my clients, every idea is so important to me. Senior portraits are something I put my whole heart into. I aim to make every senior that walks into my studio feel like they matter. Like they are my number one priority that day and for all our days together. Our time together is never rushed along so the next person can come through the door. I focus on a low volume, high quality experience that aims to make every senior I photograph feel confident in not only me but also themselves.

I am constantly searching for new locations, while still being able to utilize current ones without overuse. I aim to further my education every single year to keep up with the most modern trends, flattering poses and up-to-date techniques to make your portrait experience fresh and fun but still completely timeless.

What’s my main goal? To provide you with the most amazing service and experience with images that stand apart. I want your classmates to look at your senior images and think, you went to Katie Swatek Photography.

Salutations from Katie Swatek Photography in South Dakota

Hiya. I’m Katie.

I’m all about embracing life’s little joys—whether it’s a late-night snack, rocking a messy bun, or slipping into a pair of patterned pants. I’ve got a soft spot for sweet wine, love dyeing my hair the craziest colors, and I’m not ashamed to say I’m deeply invested in my Netflix addiction.

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m that cool mom of three (not just any mom, a cool mom) married to the best burly, bearded dude around. We’re all about adventure, laughter, and making memories that matter.

Photography is more than just a job for me—it’s a passion that fuels my creativity and connects me with incredible people. My philosophy has always been high quality, low volume, which means every session is personal, relaxed, and fun. I love getting to know my clients, and more often than not, they become like old friends.

I’m here to make sure your experience is as amazing as the milestone we’re capturing. Let’s create something beautiful together.

As my family has grown, I’ve found a renewed love of capturing family sessions in unique places that hone in on the beauty and essence that is unique to each family unit. Mixing posed portraits with playful moments is key to showing each family’s personality. And that includes all facets of family from the whole unit, maternity, children, extended and everything else in between.
